Awaji Island Monkey Center, Japan

The Monkey center is located on the east site of Kashiwara Mountain in Sumoto city on Awaji Island. It was first open in 1967 and at the present time there are around 300 monkeys. Awaji Island monkeys are gentle and very sociable giving you the chance to walk among the troop without the monkeys jumping all over you and trying to steal you possessions.

Technical solution

AXIS P5514 is a compact pan/tilt/zoom camera that enables users to pan 360° for overview surveillance and zoom 12x with autofocus for detailed views. It provides HDTV resolution up to 720p at 50/60 fps frame rate. Day/night functionality ensures maintained image quality even in low light conditions. With an optional multi-connector cable, AXIS P5514 supports two-way audio, audio detection, I/O ports for external devices, and AC/DC power. The camera ensures protection against dust and dripping water, allowing it to operate even when a sprinkler system is activated. The SD/SDHC slot enables local video storage.
