Webcam Live Portovenere (SP) - San Pietro

This live webcam is installed in the village of Portovenere, in the province of La Spezia, in the westernmost edge of the Gulf of La Spezia. Portovenere, surrounded by its Regional Natural Park, also a Unesco Site since 1997, is mainly famous for the Church of San Pietro, a jewel built between the 12th and the 13th century, perched on a rocky spur overlooking the sea. The panorama was taken from the Sea Front Lounge "Torre di Venere", offers, in the foreground, a sensational glimpse of the Church of San Pietro with its ancient walls and the Square below, "Piazza Spallanzani" or "Piazza San Pietro". On the left of the image, you can spot the sea arm, the so called "Le Bocche", that separates the rocky tip of the Promontory of Porto Venere from the Palmaria Island. To the right of San Pietro Church, an ancient fortification once used for military purposes is clearly visible.
