Supported streaming platforms

Axis cameras can stream only RTSP/RTP. CamStreamer extends cameras to support RTMP, MPEG-TS, HLS or MPEG DASH protocols as well. That's why you can connect a camera to any of the following platforms:

YouTube Live

YouTube Live

Use this platform for 24/7 broadcasts (holiday resort cameras, weather cameras, wild nature cameras, etc.). Receive an email if your camera gets disconnected (power or Internet outage, etc.). You can have more live streams within your YouTube account.

There are some limitations:
  1. YouTube have a detection of third-party content. The broadcast could be stopped if you stream background music owned by a third party. See details...
  2. Viewer stream latency is built in to the YouTube live streaming platform. There are three modes: default (30 seconds), low latency (15 seconds) and ultra-low latency (3 seconds).

YouTube Stream Now!

YouTube Stream Now!

This platform is a perfect solution for all your short time events (sports matches, concerts, live product demos, council meetings, church services, etc.). You can leverage our powerful scheduling feature, so your regular events can be started and stopped automatically at specified times.

How it works ... Start the broadcast using CamStreamer user interface, schedule, IO port or API. See how to embed a permanent player to your website. Once your live event ends, YouTube will as an option generate a recording of that event for you (up to 4 hours per event). You can edit that recording with YouTube editor's tools and put it e.g. into your "Past events" playlist if you wish so. In such a case you will have only two YouTube links embedded on your web page, one for live events and the other for your past events playlist. Yes, so powerful it is!

  2. Viewer stream latency is built in to the YouTube live streaming platform. There are three modes: default (30 seconds), low latency (15 seconds) and ultra-low latency (3 seconds).
  3. You can have only one "Stream Now" live stream within your YouTube account.

YouTube On Demand

YouTube On Demand

You can use CamStreamer for triggered videos as well, which makes CamStreamer a perfect solution for "Vox Populi" kind of installations. Videos will be automatically uploaded to your selected YouTube playlist upon e.g. button pressed (button connected to camera's input port). Or you can even upload video upon video motion detection or audio detection on your camera. With a suitable camera model you can automate that process by e.g. playing an audio message from camera's speaker after button pressed, flashing LED light during recording and saying "Thank you for your message!" when the recording ends.

If you'd like to stream long events (more than 5 minutes), use platform YouTube - Stream Now! and button "Automation".
