CamStreamer 2025 Highlights & What’s Coming in 2026
27 Jan 2026 - 12:47
The past year at CamStreamer was all about innovation and new functionalities. Let’s take a look at our key achievements from 2025 and see what’s coming in 2026.
2025 Highlights
PlaneTracker App
We developed a truly unique solution for automatic aircraft tracking and started cooperation with Flightradar24. Want to see it in action? Watch live airport streams from Las Vegas or Maho Beach in Sint Maarten:
Would you like to learn how it works? PlaneTracker App receives and filters ADS-B data, calculates the flight path, and adjusts the camera to ensure continuous monitoring of the aircraft. Simultaneously, the app displays the received information in the video feed and stores it, along with the recording, in the VMS.
We enhanced the existing features, added many new ones, and revamped the user-friendly interface. What's the game-changer? Seamless backup and restore of all app settings for easy application of the same settings to multiple cameras. Now we also provide real-time preview and editing of the Custom Graphics widget directly on the camera image.
What in addition? We added a dark-mode option. Sports streaming users can now easily add a timer using the Custom Graphics widget, with a “count up” feature starting from a chosen reference time, and many other improvements. Haven't know what the main benefits of CamStreamer App are? Learn more:
We launched a comprehensive solution for sports streaming, including scoreboard integration and AI-based camera switching for baseball and softball games. Curious how it works?
Sports Solution offers you AI based and manual camera switching, Ballclubs scoring integration, Recording and manual tagging of key moments, and of course stream and overlay graphic management. Would you like to know more? Go for Sports Solution web page:
A refreshed design, improved navigation, and enhanced search offer a great tool for real-time demonstration of the image quality of Axis cameras.
We've also focused on mobile experience with unique category headlines and hidden search/filter rows that reveal on interaction. The search and stream detail pages are optimized for mobile use, maintaining the same user-friendly principles as the desktop version.
The AV1 codec offers significantly better compression. Streaming platforms like YouTube and Netflix adopted it immediately – and so did we. AV1 is available on Axis cameras with the ARTPEC-9 chipset. If you’re using one, enable AV1 in the CamStreamer App and enjoy improved streaming efficiency.
A major upgrade is on the way, featuring a unified user interface with the rest of our apps, and new options such as backup and restore of stream settings.
2. HTML overlay in CamOverlay App
You’ll soon be able to display a cropped section of an existing website directly in your live stream. This allows you to share scoreboards, discussions, or almost any web-based content as part of your video feed.
3. Expanded Language Support in our apps
We will unify the set of languages across all our apps. This set will contain English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Chinese. Now available only in CamOverlay App.
And many more other improvements are planned throughout 2026, so stay tuned.
Thank you for your continued trust.
We truly appreciate your feedback, ideas, and questions, and we’re always happy to discuss them with you.
CamStreamer Clouds allows you to use special features such as Remote Access for management connected Axis cameras, TimeLapse, or Cloud Recordings. It also allows you to use our CamStreamer streaming apps as a service on a monthly payment basis. CamStreamer Cloud is not for managing all your perpetual licenses. Still, if you already have perpetual licenses, you can access them via cloud Remote Access if this service is active on specific cameras.
