An automated sports streaming solution powered by Sport Tracker and CamSwitcher App helps BA Nymburk deliver professional basketball livestreams with minimal manual operation while enhancing the viewing experience for fans and creating greater visibility for club partners and sponsors.

About the project

BA Nymburk is one of the most successful basketball clubs in the Czech Republic and has long recognized the importance of livestreaming as part of its communication with fans. As the club continued to expand its digital presence, its existing streaming solution no longer met the growing demands for broadcast quality, automation, and operational efficiency.

The club was looking for a solution that would automate match production while maintaining high video quality and reducing the need for manual camera control. Additional requirements included durable hardware capable of withstanding the sports environment, privacy protection when the venue was not in use, efficient bandwidth management, and better opportunities for sponsor and club branding during broadcasts.

Technical Solution

To meet these requirements, BA Nymburk selected an AXIS P1378 Network Camera with 4K resolution as the primary production camera. The camera was installed inside a protective cage to prevent damage from stray basketballs. A remote power switch was also implemented, allowing operators to turn the camera off outside broadcasting hours to protect players' privacy while reducing unnecessary bandwidth usage.

The camera runs CamStreamer App and CamSwitcher App directly inside the device. CamStreamer App streams matches directly to TVCOM.cz, while CamSwitcher App automates the production using Sport Tracker motion tracking. Based on player movement across the court, the application automatically switches between three predefined view areas without requiring manual camera operation.

The main view provides a complete overview of the basketball court, while two additional view areas focus on each side of the playing surface. After an initial adjustment of the Sport Tracker motion detection zones to ignore coaches entering the court, the automated switching proved to be highly reliable and required virtually no operator intervention. The built-in microphone of the AXIS P1378 provides audio for the entire broadcast, ensuring a consistent soundtrack regardless of the selected view area.

BA Nymburk also uses an AXIS P1344 Network Camera as a secondary camera. Running CamOverlay App, it generates a live score display that is embedded into the main broadcast as a picture-in-picture (PiP) element. In addition to the live scoreboard, the club displays a looping BA Nymburk logo in the same position across all three view areas, providing consistent branding throughout every broadcast while creating additional opportunities for sponsor visibility.

The Result

The final solution enables BA Nymburk to produce fully automated basketball livestreams while maintaining professional broadcast quality. Using Sport Tracker together with CamSwitcher App, the system automatically follows the action on the court and switches between predefined camera views, allowing every match to be streamed live directly to TVCOM.cz without manual intervention.
