A fully mobile sports broadcasting setup helps AMF stream football matches from venues across the Czech Republic, enrich broadcasts with live graphics and commentary, and automatically create highlight videos for online audiences.

About the project

AMF (Asociace malého fotbalu) is the governing body of small-sided football in the Czech Republic. As the organization continues to promote the sport and increase its popularity, it was looking for a reliable and easy-to-use solution for broadcasting matches to a wider audience.

The goal was to create a mobile production setup capable of streaming matches from various locations while remaining independent of fixed infrastructure and power sources. AMF also wanted to enrich broadcasts with live commentary, score graphics, team information, and manual scoring. Another important requirement was the ability to schedule streams in advance and manage teams, match information, and graphics through a single platform before the match even started.

Technical Solution

To meet these requirements, we prepared a fully mobile streaming solution built around a custom-made streaming case and the CamStreamer Sports Solution. The setup allows AMF to stream matches from virtually anywhere, even in locations without stable infrastructure.

The production workflow is typically based on an AXIS P1378 Network Camera mounted on a Benro KH25P tripod and connected directly to the streaming case. For easier operation, the setup is complemented by a smartphone running TinyCam, mounted in a custom 3D-printed holder. The smartphone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the camera and provides a live preview with minimal delay, allowing operators to monitor the broadcast comfortably during the match. The 3D-printed holder was specifically designed to simplify operation in the field while keeping the entire setup compact and portable.

The entire playing field can be covered using either panoramic or PTZ cameras. With panoramic cameras, operators can switch between the left side of the field, the right side, and the full-field view using predefined keyboard shortcuts. When PTZ cameras are used, operators can create preset positions for different areas of the pitch and switch between them manually throughout the match. This allows the entire game to be covered efficiently without the need for a dedicated camera operator.

Live commentary is provided through a RØDE VideoMic Rycote microphone and Bluetooth headphones. For broadcasts with two commentators, the setup utilizes the RØDE Wireless GO II system, ensuring clear communication and reliable audio capture throughout the event.

The entire production is managed through CamStreamer Cloud with the Sports Solution license. Through a single interface, operators can schedule streams in advance, manage team information, control graphics and overlays, and update scores manually in real time. All broadcasts can be streamed directly to YouTube without the need for additional software or external production equipment.

The Result

The final solution provides AMF with a fully mobile sports broadcasting platform that can be deployed at football venues across the Czech Republic. Match streams can be prepared and scheduled in advance, enriched with professional graphics and manual scoring, and broadcast directly to YouTube from a single cloud-based interface.

In addition to live production tools, AMF can play promotional videos, jingles, and interviews during halftime thanks to CamSwitcher App running in the background. This allows the organization to keep viewers engaged throughout the entire event while maintaining a professional broadcast experience.

After each match, AMF can export event tags created during the game and automatically compile them into a single highlights video. The resulting clip is then uploaded to YouTube, allowing the organization to quickly share the best moments from each match and further increase the visibility of small-sided football among fans and partners.

By combining mobile hardware, cloud-based production tools, live graphics, manual scoring, and automated highlight creation, AMF has gained a flexible and scalable solution that helps present its competitions in a professional way while making the sport more accessible to audiences across the Czech Republic.
